Have found a workaround where using advanced find does work. When I start in SafeMode, it works just fine. Outlook either comes up and says 'cannot complete search' or it just sits there and does nothing or it crashes Outlook. Just open the Indexing Options window again and you can view the index status. Searching from the search bar in standard view does not work.
